Introduction

An important role in any organisation is that of the Supervisor.  But what does it mean to be a Supervisor, and how can you improve on your performance?

This seminar has been developed to ensure that delegates attending the seminar within the Supervisory role, fully understand their job, the requirements for the organisation and in so doing become better performing Supervisors in their role.  It concentrated on the key aspects of what being a Supervisor entails, focusing on leadership, management and how to be more effective in the workplace.  This will involve focusing on communication and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving techniques and performance management.  There will be emphasis on team Work and team building to ensure all-round development.  This is essential development for anyone in the Supervisory role.

  • How to improve your self-awareness through knowledge and understanding
  • The art of managing people through excellent interpersonal skills and communication techniques

The training seminar is split into two modules:

MODULE I - Building Leadership Core Competencies

MODULE II - Building Core Supervisory Competencies

Each module is structured and can be taken as a stand-alone training course; however, delegates will maximise their benefits by taking Module 1 and 2 back-to-back as a two-weeks training course.

Participants to this seminar will receive a thorough training on the subjects covered by the seminar outline with the Tutor utilising a variety of proven adult learning teaching and facilitation techniques. Seminar methodology includes specific case studies relating to the core competencies, targeted exercises which bring out the core areas on the seminar, relevant videos relating to the topics being discussed and targeted self-assessment tools to ensure learning is fully embedded during the seminar.  In addition, there will be structured, facilitated discussions to help reinforce the concepts and techniques used.
