Introduction

Do you want your personnel to be competent when working with High Voltage Electrical Isolation? If the answer is ‘Yes’, then this GLOMACS training course is for you!

The modern world demands vast quantities of power to operate everything from Socket outlets, through to large industrial process plants. The High Voltage Electrical Isolation training course has been produced to ensure your staff are trained in a variety of procedures when dealing with High Voltage Equipment or when Isolating High Voltage Equipment.

This GLOMACS training seminar will highlight:

  • High Voltage isolation procedures
  • Applicable High Voltage legislation
  • Electrical Safety rules and procedures
  • A variety of High Voltage Electrical Equipment and applications
  • The importance of work control documentation
  • Competency requirements when working with High Voltage

Objectives

At the end of this GLOMACS training seminar, you will learn to:

  • Discuss advantages and disadvantages of High Voltage Isolation
  • Describe the interactions of AC and DC systems on distribution Networks
  • Elaborate on High Voltage Electrical Isolation rules and procedures
  • Explain how a variety of High Voltage Equipment is used and maintained
  • Apply modern and historic practices and procedures
  • Demonstrate the important of work control documentation with regards to High Voltage systems

Training Methodology

Each course participant will receive a copy of the comprehensive course notes. The presenter will outline and discuss the topics using presentations, questions and answers and short films. The course is designed to have an interactive format to maximize delegate participation. Questions and answers are encouraged throughout and at the daily sessions. Case studies and examples will be discussed in the daily sessions. This gives participants the opportunity to discuss with other delegates and the presenter their specific problems and appropriate solutions. Only minimum note taking is encouraged to ensure maximum delegate attention during the course.

Organisational Impact

The impact from sending your work force onto this course are wide and far reaching. Delegates will gain a variety of knowledge which is current, applicable and complies with current practices and standards. The knowledge gained by delegates, can be applied back in their work roles and can be used to ensure the following:

  • Delegates are conversant with current and emerging HV Technology and practices
  • Delegates will become aware of how to correctly Isolate High Voltage Equipment
  • Delegates will develop skills to identify the different components which make up a High Voltage system
  • Delegates will be able to analyse their current Isolation practices and procedures and suggest improvements to current systems in their workplace
  • Delegates will be able to understand how to apply High Voltage Electrical Isolation into their work roles

Personal Impact

  • Delegates will be able to gain new skills and knowledge on High Voltage Electrical Isolation
  • Delegates will be able to refresh their knowledge on High Voltage Electrical Isolation
  • Delegates will be able to ask questions and focus on particular issues which they have encountered with High Voltage Electrical Isolation
  • Delegates will be able to advance onto further advanced training with regards to High Voltage Electrical Isolation
